For these artists, blockchain was a medium, not just a tool. They were experimenting with the concept of what the blockchain represented in society: an alternative economic model; a new way of proving identity; reflections upon provenance; and introducing the element of playing with these notions through art. {R(Evolutionaries);origins;} is a collection of historical pieces and new works that explore these early beginnings and set the tone for the decade that was to follow.
